NURSE EXECUTIVE CONSULTANT, home based if within hour of major airport; PREFER SOMEONE WHO IS LIVING ON THE EAST COAST; major hospital management company has an immediate need within our PMI group for an experienced Nursing Specialist to assume responsibility for a project leadership role in the operations consulting practice, including an immediate project leadership role and focus on Medicare Performance Initiative (MPI), a highly visible company-wide effort to reduce variation in the cost of care delivery under the Medicare program, while at the same time continuing to improve quality in our hospitals, all to better position our health system for health care payment reform. The Nursing Specialist will work in partnership with our Regional CMOs and alongside our hospital C-Suite management teams, with the support of PMI analysts and other PMI team members, to identify and prioritize opportunities to reduce unnecessary variation in practice patterns and cost of care, with a focus on those MS-DRGs or service lines where cost most significantly exceeds payment. The selected candidate will assist hospital management team in the identification of drivers of variation among physician practices including LOS, implants, supplies, drugs, imaging, perioperative efficiency and staffing efficiency. The Specialist will work with the hospital management team to develop prescriptive action plans and metrics for tracking implementation success. Ability to travel nationally 80 percent of the time is required. Education/Certifications: An undergraduate degree in Nursing is required (BSN), with an advanced degree in Business and/or Health Care Management strongly preferred. 1. ACCOUNT MANAGER (NURSE CONSULTANT, home based if within hour of major airport; major hospital management company has an immediate need within our PMI group. The Account Manager's primary role will be to track, monitor and manage a book of business for PMI across multiple hospitals to ensure implementation and benefit realization from the Health System's Medicare Performance Initiative (MPI) and other PMI engagements.  Will play a key role with respect to sustainability and repeatability of the Medicare Performance Initiative (MPI) including:  (a) tracking, monitoring and assisting as needed with sustainability of Wave 1 MS-DRGs after the initial PMI rollout team transitions out, (b) ensuring repeatability and execution of Wave 2 and future Waves of MS-DRGs, including assisting with data access, assisting hospitals and regions with monitoring and tracking of work plans and scorecards, reviewing/setting targets, and on-site support as needed, intervening with hospitals and elevating progress concerns to the regional level as needed.  Will also monitor and track scorecard performance and implementation progress relative to other PMI engagements, including Emergency Department, Imaging and Case Management. Consulting project management or hospital-based management experience obtained in a CNO, CFO or Director or above operations/clinical role; clinical background, multi-hospital responsibility, project management experience, six sigma/lean or equivalent experienced desired and a big plus; strong analytical skills including use of Excel and PowerPoint; ability to manipulate, analyze and present data; experience working in or with C-Suite level management teams a must.  MHA, MBA or equivalent degree or licensing required. Senior Case Management Specialist Consultant –located out of remote office (home), but must be within an hour of major airport; part of corporation and PMI department, reports to Senior Director Case Management; role provides oversight for implementation of the Health System Case Management Program in all hospitals to proactively merge the clinical, operational, and financial aspects of patient care, focusing primarily on providing an effective and efficient program to balance both quality outcomes and cost.  These Senior Specialists partner with the hospital Administrative Teams in each of the system's regions. This  position requires frequent travel to the hospitals, as well as to the Headquarters Offices, approximately 80-90 percent. The Specialists' develop/ revise policies and procedures; provide education; conduct onsite assessments and process improvement projects; monitors prescriptive action plans; and functions as primary internal consultants to corporate and hospital leadership and staff. Working knowledge of InterQual for medical necessity and appropriateness of care required. At least eight to ten years of clinical experience and eight to ten years of case management and case management administration experience are required.  Three to five years of general management experience and tenure in a consulting firm is highly desirable. A current RN license and Bachelor's degree in Nursing are required, with an advanced degree in Business and/or Health Care Management strongly preferred.
